So click here: http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk203/choirteacher2/ to see the
picks I uploaded to photobucket. I thought 56 pictures was a little too much to post here. The concert was amazing. I was in 13th row center, closer to
John's side. I saw the shows three years ago and there were just as kickin' this year! I saw Andy at those shows in 2005 and I have to say I really
enjoyed Dom's performance this time around. I had a hard time seeing him and Nick because AMAZONS were standing in front of me...literally a man and woman
both over 6 feet tall. So I kept holding my camera up above my head to get pics of that side of the stage. I enjoyed watching Nick video-ing the audience and
other band members during their performance. He had a little hand held camera like mine and he kept turning it on and filming. The band all looked like they
were having a good time. Simon was on fire! I loved the opening and that they played the first four songs from RCM and skin divers. I wish they would play
skin divers or night runner on the radio. I really enjoyed the electro set. I got great pics of them downstage together. I thought it was nice for Roger to
be able to come out and see us better
Tempted was not one of my favorite songs on the CD, but after hearing it live, I really like it now. It's an
awesome dance song. They played Last chance on a stairway as part of the electroset and I was the only one in my area who knew that song. And I LOVED Planet
Earth. That's the concert shirt I got with the Planet Earth on it. Some chick held up a sign during their band introduction which said she would divorce
her husband for John and had an arrow pointing to the guy next to her. She was probably in the 5th row. I thought that was a little weird, personally. I
mean, how old are we? All the usual songs were great...Notorious, View to a Kill, Rio, Hungry like the wolf. They only played 2 from Astronaut which is too
bad. There is so much great music on that album. I think Simon forgot the words to one song towards the beginning...forget which, but it wouldn't be a
Duran show if Simon didn't forget them at least once!
John of course was HOT! He looked laid back, grooving out, slapping that bass, having a good old time. Damn, I wanted to rush the stage. But the stupid
security guards kept sending everyone back to their seats. I miss the gold old days of being right up against the stage! The place was packed and most people
were up dancing most of the night. I was amazed at how many husbands/boyfriends were there with their wives/girlfriends. And the boys were up dancing, too.
I took a girlfriend with me who is 6 years younger. She kept turning to me everytime they started a new song and she would say, "I didn't know they
sang that. I love that song!" That was too funny for me. She also said she thought Simon was still hot! I did get the tour book which has an awesome
pic of John looking all GQ holding a semi-automatic rifle. On the next page are pics of his home in England, bookshelves loaded with family pictures and
books, Gela's stuff, too. The two chickie pies next to me kept screaming for Nick and the girl in front of her said, oh no, Nick's mine. I was
laughing.
The opening band, Your Vegas were a little obnoxious with the level they were playing at. Or maybe the sound guy was deaf, but I could feel the drums as if
they were pounding directly on my chest. Ugh. My friend and I thought they sounded like a cross between U2, The Killers, and Snow Patrol. And yes, I agree
with the earlier review that said he did look funny trying to dance on one leg. Why didn't he just get a stool and rock out from the stool? I kept
waiting for him to fall over...is that bad? Tee hee!
Another amazing concert and another fulfullment of my inner child. Looks like the set list was exactly the same as Vancouver's. Awesome Awesome!!!
