Firstly - a big thank you to every who supported and sent good wishes for Niki, in her competition to become Scotland's No1 Sports Fan, unfortunately she did not win the main prize of a worldwide trip to any sporting event, but we did get to go to Birmingham last weekend, and even better our hotel was on Broad Street, just along from where the Rum Runner was (the Jury's Inn). So spent 2 days watching basketball, getting aching back/hips/legs from being so cramped in the seats ... and getting hoarse from shouting.
Basketball finals were in the NIA, and we had to go collect our tickets on the Saturday from the box office - where Allan so kindly informs me that Duran are playing there in July, and points out the advert behind the desk (as if I needed reminding huh!) ... we then head into the arena, and were just settling in our seats when they played The Reflex ... so me & Nik sat singing along while we waited (highlight of my weekend LOL)
Our hotel room overlooked the Hyatt Hotel, which as far as I'm aware - is built on the site of the Rum Runner ... and made the Durannie in me 'squee' each morning when I opened the curtains.
Otherwise with me - fairly settled into new house - although i think the stress is just hitting me healthwise, as I've been going through a bit of a relapse with my fibromyalgia, but hopefully with the summer coming in, and lots of rest i'll be up & about again soon.
hope everyone is well around here & that life is going good. will try and pop in again a bit more often.
hugs everyone
Hazel
